Acrylic Necklace Focal Point

Happy Saturday!  Victoria back again with a simple and beautiful jewelry making project using Dew Drops.

Necklace Recipe:

Acrylic Pouring Medium
Jewelry Mold
Dew Drops
Chain - I used 18 inches of copper colored chain
Two shell charms
5 large jump rings - I used 5 copper colored jump rings
Clasp of your choice - I used a copper colored bar and circle clasp

Necklace Directions:
  • For this project it is super important to assemble all of your project supplies and have them within reach.  Also use a surface that if you spill on can be disposed of.  I get inexpensive plastic cutting boards at the Dollar Tree (you get two for $1.00)
  •  You'll need equal amounts of resin and hardener, measured into two disposable cups.  Pour together and mix with a disposable wooden stick.  Mix for several minutes as directed by your resin brand.  Once mixed you have about 45 minutes working time.
  • Pour resin into molds and embellish with Dew Drops.
  •  Apply heat from a heat gun or torch to remove bubbles in the resin.  You may need to poke additional bubbles with a pin to get them all out of your jewelry piece.
  •  Make sure the molds are on a flat surface, cover lightly with foil to prevent dust from settling on your focal points.  Let dry for 24 hours.
  • Pop resin pieces out of the mold and assemble your jewelry!
Hope you have fun trying this project!

Creative Inspiration Challenge with Rick St. Dennis Stamp

Here is a fun little easel card I made for the Creative Inspiration Anything Goes challenge posted today, using a stamp that I created by downsizing a coloring book page created in 2015 by artist Rick St. Dennis.  Doesn't it make the perfect card topper for this fun birthday card.  I colored the stamp page using colored pencils and Copic Markers.  It has been too long since I used my markers!  This was a fun project.  The buttons on the card and vintage from the late 1970's.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my blog!  Have a wonderful day!

Robins Nest DT - Wedding Card

Happy Saturday!  Victoria here bringing you a new card project for a summertime wedding.

Recipe for a Wedding Card:

Dew drops in Lakeside/Royal Blue/and white – I used 7 in total
4 ¼ by 5 ½ inch card – I used white card stock
Paper cut for topper as follows:  4 x 5 ¼ inch; 4 x ¾ inch; and a 1 ¼ inch circle  - I used Ruby Rocket Harmony paper
Prima Chalk ink – branch bark
6 inches of cotton lace ribbon – off white
Tim Holtz rub-on – numbers
Tim Holtz Andirondack Alcohol Ink – meadow – used to color a swirl acrylic embellishment I made.
Authentique – diction – love
Kaisercraft wooden sentiment – forever
Ivory paper flowers – mini roses
Acetate butterfly
Aleene’s Tacky Glue
Dry adhesive

Directions:

  •  Fold cardstock base to form 4 ¼ x 5 ½ inch card.
  •  Assemble all parts for the card

  •  Using chalk ink, ink all edges of the paper layers

  •  Attach the circle in the upper left hand corner of the card and the thin strip about 1 ½ inch from the bottom of the card
  •  Attach the lace above the thin strip using liquid adhesive, overlapping as much as desired.  Leave at least one inch on either side to attach to back.  When dry flip the card topper over and adhere lace to the back using liquid adhesive.  Let dry.

  •  Attach butterfly in the middle of the circle.  Attach six miniature roses.  Attach the acrylic swirl.  Attach love sentiment directly on the right hand side of the card, after inking all edges.  Attach the forever sentiment. Add the rub on at the upper right side of the card. Let all embellishments dry.
  •  Add Dew Drops and let dry, thoroughly.

  •  Attach card topper to card base and you’ve got a beautiful summer wedding card.

Thanks for looking and I’ll see you again soon!
Best,
Victoria
