The Other Artistic Side of Me

Besides paper arts, I love making jewelry. I actually even love making jewelry out of paper, but more on that another day. I photographed a couple of pieces today for my Etsy shop. My handle over there is "RetroVictoria". Just thought I would share the two necklaces here too!

I love the creativity of working with beads. Sometimes it takes a lot of quiet and patience, which is good for me.

Make Your Own Patterned Paper

Vintage Flapper

Vintage Post Card

Have you ever wanted to make your own patterned paper? Have a theme which there is no paper you like for? I know that really seems impossible with the growth of the scrapbooking industry. However, every once in a while I am a do it yourself kind of gal.

Recently I wrote a tutorial for Maura at Craft Sassy on how to design your own pattern to be used for scrapbooking papers. It is really simple (shhhhhh! don't tell). And I have used this technique on several recent projects, include the mini album that I did as a scrapbooking planning journal.

To check out the tutorial, follow this link: http://craftsassy.blogspot.com/ I would love to hear what you think!

MCS April Sketch Challenge

Have I told you how much I love the monthly sketch challenge at MCS? Liz Qualman is a superb sketch artist and I just *have* to try almost every sketch she creates! I used patterned papers from Webster's Pages (blooming beauty, love note, and brown pokee dot. I combined them with Prima Windsor Roses and flowers from the Juliette collection. I also am really loving the Kaisercraft brown pearls.

Thanks for taking a peek at my DH and me about 10 1/2 years ago. Lots of water under the bridge since then, but I wouldn't change a thing.

Craft Sassy Design It Yourself Papers

I am loving designing my own papers and having them printed at Craft Sassy! I have wanted to do a journal that features tea cups for a while. I inherited quite a few from both my maternal and paternal grandmothers. So I designed this "tea themed" paper to enhance the photos and meet my thematic need. This Maya Road sheer album is entitled, "Grandmas' Tea Cups". I am using it for a scrapbook planning album.
If you want to design your own papers, I will be doing a tutorial for Maura at Craft Sassy that will walk you through the steps for Photoshop Elements. Let me know what you think of the album and the papers! Thanks for taking a peek!

It's April At Serendipity Scrapbooks!!!

This month, I got to work with the "I Deserve It All Kit". I am in love with both the Die Cuts With A View Papers and My Mind's Eye Penny Lane. Both are awesome to work with. They are a nice weight and hold up to all the embellishing I can dish out.

This kit is a perfect addition to your Earth Day Celebration. Not only is the theme nature, but the DCWV papers are made from recycled paper. What better way to be a mindful, Earth-wise scrapper!

Hope you enjoy these! Also come on over to Serendipity for a month long Spring Cleaning challenge. Hope to see you there.
