365 Cards Blog - Monday Card plus an Extra

Happiest of Mondays to each of you!  I have two cards to show you today.  First is the "extra".  One of my favorite co-workers lost his sister last week.  This is a card that I made in golds and creams for everyone in our office to sign.  I made extra insert pages of folded dimension 4 x 5 1/2 inches, so everyone will have a nice place to sign!

On to the 365 Card Challenge Example for Monday.  This is an exciting week, that will finish next Saturday November 2, 2013 with a designer blog hop.  We all love making cards!  This week my challenge (and yours) is to create with things that begin with the letter C.

I used:  Card Stock, Chipboard (letters and heart), Cardboard (swirl), Crochet (the button cover), Crayon (replacing misting on the heart chipboard), Crinkle ribbon and the color Cream!  I think I covered the letter C, although I can still think of more c named products.  Can you?  If you can show us over at 365 Cards Blog!

Have a Joyful Week!

QKD Halloween Tag Featuring Lorelei by Charles Bristow

Happy Halloween in red, purple, yellow, kraft and black.  Lorelei is the inspiration for this layered tag. She was colored with colored pencils and stickles.  The moon was colored with colored pencils and dimensional texturing added with Rock Candy Stickles.  I love how it turned out looking a bit frosty.
The background paper for this tag had a flocked haunted house, which I was able to use as the background base.  The tag card has six or seven layers to it.  I also used some gold and black velvet dangles on the ribbon to add a little more fun movement!

Happy Saturday!

Catching Up on the Blog - Moving Forward on Christmas

I am beginning to move forward to Christmas, but just had to create a Poe-esque ATC.
I used a public image and a raven graphic from Graphic Fairy blog.  The ribbon is from Graphic 45 I love that it has the words peculiar and unusual on it.  I added some lipstick red splats to the image for a little drama!

Moving on to Christmas, I created this 7 Gypsies printer tray with a variety of ATCs.  The majority of the images are from a Gecko Galz image page.  I also used a vintage reproduction Paris postcard.  I added some new and vintage objects to add additional dimension.  The ribbon rosettes are from Webster's Pages and the bow was created from May Arts ribbon.

I used two DRS stamps this week for the 365 Cards Monday challenge This or That Color combination.  I love the Snowmomma Stamp and the Wise men.  Perfect for Christmas Cards.  I love that it is time to move toward celebrating the birth of Jesus!

Back to my work travel obligations!  I will see you this weekend!
Thank you for stopping by.  I love reading your comments.

Sandra Caldwell is Magically Amazing!

I don't personally know Sandra Caldwell, one of the fabulous designers at Queen Kat Designs, but I adore her stamps.  They simply exude personality.  This magical stamp was colored completely using Spica pens, the top hat has an amazing golden sheen.

I mounted all of these elements on a white stair step card, cut from white card stock.
The elements are from the Gecko Galz one page Altered Halloween elements.  I hand cut all of them and mounted them on some polka dotted paper that I used to cover the steps.  The wrought iron fence is a Martha Stewart Halloween Punch from several years ago.  Don't you just love the bats???
The sentiment is from Tim Holtz Seasonal words. The edges of the elements and the card were inked with chalk ink in old road from Prima.

Thanks for stopping by!  Leave me a note and say hello!

365 Cards Vintage Challenge Week! Monday Lace

It's Vintage week at the 365 Card Blog.  Today's challenge is to use lace, along with a vintage image.  My images are from Gecko Galz, both a game board and the pumpkin.  I colored the yellow parts of the image with spica pens to give it a subtle shimmer.  Then piles on lace in yellow, cream, black and green.  I used a stick pin from Wild Orchid Crafts in England.  The sentiment is from Tim Holtz seasonal words.  I always use Aleen's Tacky Glue to adhere lace elements.

Thanks for stopping by and hope to see your entries at 365 Cards!  I hear there is a prize to be won!

Have a fabulous week!

Magical Stamp from Sandra Caldwell

Time to take a peek into my art journal.  This page has the works on it!  Everything from acrylics to rub ons and gelato and melted crayons.  I had a super fun time with this page.  I especially love Sandra Caldwell's Magic stamp.  You can check out her digital stamps in the Queen Kat store.  I love all of Sandra's images, whether animal or people.  They all have soulful eyes and many of them are glasses wearers!  I guess I can relate to that!  LOL!  I have the most fun using these stamps in many ways.
This magical stamp was colored with colored pencils and then I added glitter glue to several spots to give some additional sparkle!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the fall magical season!

365 Cards - Helper Week!

This week is focused on having a friend or family member pick out something for your card.  Here are the details for today's challenge

Have a friend or family member select a stamp for you to use -- and you must incorporate that stamp in your card design. Any other decor and theme goes.

My son helped by picking out this sand dollar image, after I gave him a basket and drawer of stamps to choose from.  I inked the stamp with Salty Ocean Distress Ink Ranger Tim Holtz. It was stamped on white card stock and embossed with Ranger's fine embossing powder in clear.  I cut the image and inked the edges with a Hint of Pesto chalk ink.  The papers are from K and Company's vacation stack.  The ribbon is May Arts.

Another Halloween Card with Kathy Cyr

This cute little witch sits upon the moon with her adorable kitty.  How perfect to wish someone a happy Halloween.  She is a gentle and good witch (I think).  I love her shoes.  Dash on over to the Queen Kat Designs store to find so many fabulous Halloween images from the sweet to the not so sweet!

Also, October 15, 2013 is the reveal for new stamps.  Check out the Queen Kat Facebook page for all the details.  Reveal night is always a fun time with Vikki!

The ribbon is from doodle bug designs, the skeleton leaf was purchased through wild orchid crafts in the United Kingdom, Trick or Treat is from the Tim Holtz seasonal sentiments book and the skull and cross bones is from 7 Gypsies.  The flower was made for me by a on-line friend and is just perfect for this card.
