Hi Everyone! I am back with a great project to do with kids using an assortment of Dew Drops. Hope you'll try this one out! Today, we are making a Sun Catcher using just a few ingredients, including fabulous Dew Drops! Please note that this project is best for hanging indoors as it is not rain proof and I am not sure how stable it would be at ultra high temperatures! If you want a really permanent sun catcher you can use pourable resin instead of glue, but that is really an adult project!
Ingredients:
Elmer's School Glue
Yogurt Container Lid (plastic lid)
Eyelet
Dew Drops (pick the colors you like) - I wanted a sea glass look so, chose blues and greens mostly
Garden Twine or ribbon for hanging.
Directions:
This project is a fun but messy one, so have paper towels or wet washcloths around to wipe up hands and surfaces.
1. Place the eyelet in the desired location in the plastic lid and fill the lid with glue.
2. Start laying down the Dew Drops of your choice. You can make any design you desire!
3. Fill in with Dew Drops (remember this is good messy, non-toxic fun!)
4. Now comes the hard part......... the drying time! It took mine about 5 days to dry and I was tempted to pull it out early. What is the old song? The waiting is the hardest part! It sure is!
5. When the background looks clear and is no longer opaque, gently loosen from your lid. String twine or ribbon through the eyelet and it is ready to hang!
Hope you have a great time with this project! Remember you can use resin to make a really permanent piece, but mine is holding up wonderfully well in my craft room window!
