365 Cards - Day 364 Combining Challenges (7 and 77)

Today marks my last day with 365 Cards Challenge Blog.  What a fun group to design for!  Thanks to Pam for the opportunity.  Today is a special shout out to all of the DT members.  Thanks!

The challenge for today was to combine two previous challenges and make your own challenge.  I chose #7 and #77.  One was rounding the corner (1 to 3 rounded corners) and the other was inchies.

I dug deep into my stash for this card:

1.  Patterned papers are from Oo, la, la by My Minds Eye 6 x 6 inch pad (used four different pages)
2.  White card stock cut to form a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inch card blank
3.  Bakers twin in pale yellow
4.  A Tim Holtz "Seasonal Sentiment"
5.  Two vintage buttons - stacked and tied
6.  Dimensional adhesive
7.  Dry adhesive
8.  Liquid Adhesive

Steps:
1.  Round the corner of the card by punching both layers with a corner rounder.
2.  Cut a 5 1/4 x 4 inch background paper, Round the lower left corner, Adhere to the White Card with dry adhesive.
3.  Punch two inchies from each of three double sided patterned papers, to give a total of six different designs.
4.  Adhere the inchies to the card, using dimensional tape adhesive.
5.  Wrap the front of the card twice with twine and tie.
6.  Stack two white vintage buttons and thread with twine.  Adhere over the wrapped twine with liquid adhesive.
7.  Add sentiment at an angle to the right of the button.

Again thank you to Pam and the 365 DT for the inspiration this last year!

365 Cards Blog Challenge - Card with a Star or in the Shape of a Star

Here is my example for the 365 Cards Blog Challenge.  The card for today should be in the shape of a star or have stars on it.  As you can see, my card has three stars.  The large star was hand drawn and cut from an index card while I was working at the Snack Shack for my son's basketball tournament.  I covered the star with patterned paper from My Mind's Eye.  The card blank was cut from Navy Blue Bazzill card stock to form a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inch card blank.  The next layer is a red cut to 5 3/8 x 4 1/8 inches.  The final patterned layer was cut to 5 1/4 x 4 inches and layered on the other two.  The star wraps around the card and was adhered both front and back.  Once adhered I added red stickler from Ranger, the Christmas Joy sentiment from Tim Holtz, and the stars and rosette from Fawn Lawn.

Wishing you a bright Christmas, with time with those you love!

365 Cards Monday Challenge - Reflection

Today's challenge at 365 Cards blog is to design a card that includes a reflection.  In the spirit of Christmas, my reflection card is a Christmas tree reflecting in a pond.

To make the reflection, I used Tim Holtz distress ink in peeled paint for the reflection and pine needle for the primary tree.  I stamped the reflection first and lined up the primary tree second.  They were heat embossed using fine clear embossing powder.  Then for the pond, I used weathered wood and salty ocean.  I used lime green, red and gold stickler for the ornaments on both images.  For the reflection, I smeared the dots with my finger tips.  Finally, I added the ribbon to the primary tree and the sentiment.  This card measures 3 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches, so I also made a matching envelope.  The paper the images were stamped on is the mistables by Pink Paislee.

Have a blessed week!

Just sending a little holiday cheer and inspiration for the last 13 days before Christmas.  All of the images on these cards were from Gecko Galz.  I love the vintage Santa Claus.

365 Monday Card Challenge - Game Pieces

Today's challenge at 365 Cards is to make a card that includes a game piece or two.  Here is my example:

This card features two vintage replica Alice in Wonderland game cards.

Here are the instructions step by step to make a card similar to this with mini playing cards.

1.  Gather three buttons, vintage lace, a colorful journaling card, two mini cards, a piece of patterned paper that measures 4 x 5 1/4 inches, dry and liquid adhesive and a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 white card blank.

2.  Adhere the lace to the 4 x 5 1/4 inch patterned paper using liquid adhesive.
3.  When dried, adhere to the white card blank (I made my own using Bazzill Card Stock).
4.  On the journaling card (Webster's Pages), stamp the sentiment in the lower left corner using brown     ink (stamp:  Crafty Secrets)
5.  Adhere the playing cards, placing one at an angle and the other straight.  Adhere the journaling block to the patterned paper.
6.  Using liquid adhesive adhere the three buttons to the card in the lower right hand corner (or substitute embellishment of your choice here).

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed week!

Kraft Christmas Bird Cards two ways!

Could this Christmas Bird be any sweeter?  This three inch tall rubber stamp is so cute and bound to bring a smile to anyones face!  For these two cards, I printed the Christmas Bird onto Kraft card stock and went from there.  I love the craft with the red, cream and brown color scheme for a traditional holiday color look.  He is showing his heart, too.  Wouldn't he be just perfect for that someone special?

For the second card, I used the same Kraft card stock print.  Mounted on greens, blues, creams and browns.  He looks equally cute for a winter sentiment card.  I can also think of lots of fall ideas for this bird, too!

Hope you enjoy seeing him.  I will be back next week with some other items featuring this outstanding stamp by Mary Vogel Lozinak.  Check out all of her stamps at the store.  Just follow the Christmas Bird link or the store link to the left!

Golden Season's Greetings - 365 Card Blog Monday Challenge

Today's challenge at 365 Cards is to create a card with almost all gold.  This great image came from Gecko Galz and was just perfect with it's golden yellow tint.  I used Pink Paislee paper for the background and added layers to that.  The fabric is from Webster's pages.  It was pinked with pinking sheers.  I adhered it with dots of Aleen's Tacky Glue, which I let dry.  I then added the Santa image and the sentiment (which was printed on my printer using the Papyrus font).  The cameo is also from Webster's Pages.  The sentiment was adhered and finally the bow from Freckled Fawn.  I added this with dimensional tape.  Last down was the ribbon border on the bottom and golden glitter.

I know just the treasured friend who will receive this card.
Happy Monday and happy first week of waiting and preparing for the Birth of Jesus!
